The onshore partner visa is for those who are currently in Australia and are in a genuine and committed relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The offshore partner visa is for those who are outside Australia and are in a committed relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

To be eligible for a partner visa, you must prove that you are in a genuine relationship with your partner, have lived together or are living together, and intend to continue your relationship in Australia. You must also meet the character and health requirements.
